I want to retrieve information about an arrest that was declined to prosecute

For visa purposes I really want to find out the reason my arrest was declined to prosecute from the DAs office. Basically to renew my visa I have to state I was arrested, even if there was no following charge or convictions and they give you a bit of space to explain it further so I would like to know the specific reason it was declined.

I have a notarized letter ready to give to bring to police plaza in order to retrieve the sealed record. Will the information be there?
