18M – Stuck at 87 kg, none of the “simple routines” work for me. Need real guidance.

Advice: Seeking ❓

Hey everyone,
I’m a 18 year old guy (174 cm, 87 kg as of today) and I feel completely stuck with my weight loss. I’ve tried multiple “straightforward” routines people recommend, but almost none of them have given me any real or promised results.

Most advice online goes like:

  • “Eat less, move more”
  • “Just track calories”
  • “Stick to one workout”

But in my case, it never works out the way it’s supposed to.
Even when I follow things properly, my weight barely moves or sometimes even goes up.

Here’s my situation :-

  1. Height: 174 cm.
  2. Weight: 87 kg (was 86 a few days ago).
  3. Body fat around 26–30%.
  4. Indian household → meals are mostly carb-heavy (roti, rice, sabji, dal).
  5. Low protein environment.
  6. Limited equipment (5 kg dumbbells + a cycle, which I can ride 20 km in an hour).
  7. Sedentary lifestyle because I’m preparing for exams.
  8. Trying to eat around 1500 calories, but homemade food makes accuracy tricky.
  9. The biggest problem: very little visible progress despite trying multiple approaches.
  10. Also yes… I am inconsistent sometimes and fall off, but that’s because nothing feels like it’s genuinely working.

I’m on a timeline because I want to reach around 72–74 kg by March for a Merchant Navy medical requirement.
So I really need a plan that fits my current reality and actually produces results.

What I’m looking for:

  • Something realistic for an Indian household
  • A routine that works even with simple tools
  • A structure that doesn’t require perfection to show progress
  • Advice from people who struggled with consistency but still lost weight
  • Any fat-loss tips specifically for teenagers, cycling-based routines, or high-carb diets

I’m not trying to complain — I just genuinely feel like none of the “standard advice” fits my situation, and I really want to turn this around before it’s too late.

Any guidance would help a lot.
Thanks
