How would you balance a mecha transformation item?

I want to give one of my players (Lvl 10 cleric) a magic item tgat gives them a mecha style transformation once per day for one minute. I was thinking about tweaking the Tensers Transformation spell for the effect and maybe adding a laser beam but perhaps someone here did something similar once or has ideas on possible effects.
