It’s started…or maybe just the warm up?
I turned 44 in September. I’ve always had a high sex drive but I have been noticing it waning or just being more unpredictable rather than consistently on high. A few months ago I’m fairly certain I had my first night sweat though I was unsure due to the fact I don’t sweat. (Thyroid has been tested it’s fine I’m just weird) I flush and get that pretty dewy glow at best when most people would be sweating buckets due to heat, exercise etc.
So I woke up and felt like a pressure cooker about to explode on the kitchen ceiling, nauseous and couldn’t get my nightgown off fast enough. It felt awful. I am normally always cold which was nice because I’m married to a human furnace. Not so much anymore, as now I’m always the warm one and I can’t stand to cuddle him at night. I got my blood drawn yesterday to test my hormones and results came back. I’m not asking for an interpretation, I’m waiting for my doctor to do that. I will say for day 14 of my cycle everything came back normal EXCEPT my testosterone which had a yellow exclamation point by it. I won’t list what it was just in the hopes of this getting posted.
My main question though is if I should be advocating hard for some type of hormone intervention? The other numbers were on the lower end of normal but still normal range. I would just very much like to feel mostly back to normal emotionally and sex drive be at least present if not in overdrive. Sometimes I suck at advocating for myself with doctors and sometimes I can be loud but usually only when I’m sick of hearing no too many times. This is definitely a situation I want to get ahead of and stay ahead of but I also don’t want to go in and start demanding HRT or treatment in general if it’s not yet time? Does that make sense? If there are other options out there to try before hormones I’d love those tips too.
