Should I get an iPad mini for my El Camino journey? Thoughts?

Hi! I’ve used the Wise Pilgrim App to plan my Portugues Coastal route. This is a weird question, but I have an old kinda heavy iPad that I’m thinking of replacing with a mini. I love my iPad for travel, but I’m wondering if the mini might be too small to read directions or read books at night. Any thoughts would be appreciated and thanks!
