Koumba will be the first to get tired of the Hive and join Carol

SpoilerTheory

In my opinion, neutrality is the natural state of human beings. If you win the lottery, it feels like the most incredible thing that’s ever happened to you. But eventually, the feeling of being able to buy everything you want becomes normal. Then you start craving things you don’t have.

If you’ve ever hacked a game to get infinite money in it, you know how this goes. It’s amazing at first, then you get used to it. Soon you're bored because there are no goals left, and you want to quit the game because of it.

That’s what I think is going to happen to Koumba. He already makes the hive act like individuals, so they feels natural to him. He craves that human connection between individuals. When one of them broke out of character, it really bothered him. It's all just a play, where he can only win. And eventually he’ll get used to that. He will get bored.

He might believe right now that he wants this lifestyle to last forever. But he will start craving real human connection more and more. Something the hive can't fulfill. They can act as much as he wants them too, but it feels fake. And the other 11 alone can’t provide that connection either, since they seem very different from one another.

Koumba doesn’t want to join the hive because he doesn't even appreciate the hive. He just loves having puppets and everything that money can buy. And eventually, this will not be enough. I think he will then join Carol's plan to break the hive. But he might also double cross her because he wishes to get the best of the two worlds.
