Small and affordable tele-zoom?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to sell my fuji kit and will likely buy a Nikon camera next. But I really need a small telephoto zoom for landscapes/cityscapes. Currently, I'm using Fuji XF 70-300mm f4-5.6 lens for that. It's compact and easy to take on a trip. This Fuji zoom is great and is the only reason I'm staying with Fuji system. I have found a similar lens for Canon RF system which is 100-400 f5.6-8. Slow and potato quality but fits the same niche and can replace my Fuji lens. But I struggle to find something similar in a Nikon land. So far it looks like 28-400mm f4-8 is my only choice. But it's not exactly the same. Am I missing something?
