City trained NQ looking for advice

I recently qualified as a solicitor (trained at a top-tier international firm) but didn’t apply to stay on at my training firm because none of the roles on offer were the right fit. I also did a client secondment during my training contract and found that I really enjoyed working in-house, so since qualifying I’ve been applying for junior legal counsel roles.

I keep getting through to the final stages of interviews, but then get rejected because they decide I don’t yet have enough experience. It’s frustrating because they shortlist me, put me through multiple stages, and then say they want someone with more PQE (despite receiving very positive feedback on everything else & passing technical tests).

Now I’m not sure what to do. I really want to work in-house in a commercial role, but most places ultimately seem to want candidates who already have some post-qualification experience. It’s really disheartening and I’m starting to struggle with the process so I would really appreciate if anyone has any advice?
