Jahmyr Gibbs Sets Record For Most Touchdown Runs Of 35 Yards Or More By Left-Handed Player Before Age 23, 250 Days

Calling it a "monumental achievement totally recognized as the pinnacle of sport," Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell hailed Jahmyr Gibbs's "unprecedented milestone" reached during Thursday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

"Sure, there are players who have scored more touchdowns in an entire career, and Jahmyr has yet to set a single season NFL record, but this is impressive nonetheless," said Campbell of the not at all arbitrary mark set during the game, "It's right up there with his string of seven straight games with 5+ yards per carry by a player whose father didn't also play in the league while humming."

Gibbs's performance edged out the previous record holder, who set the mark at age 23 years and 251 days. As of press time, commentators were arguing over whether to recognize it as the greatest athletic performance in history or to reserve that for the most home runs hit by a switch-hitting shortstop during a divisional round of the MLB playoffs.
