Urgent - Looking for a slim laptop (₹50k–₹80k) for CAD / FEA (mechanical & aerospace) any suggestions?
Hey all, I need a laptop for mechanical/aerospace work (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, ANSYS) medium assemblies and moderate simulations). Preferences: • Slim, good-looking/portable • Should handle medium-level CAD assemblies and some FEA work reliably • Budget: ₹50,000–₹80,000 (India) may be tough case will try upto 1lakh. • RAM: 16GB needed right? • Storage: 1 TB SSD preferred, or at least a model that allows easy SSD upgrade → 1 TB at purchase • Prefer something upgradeable (RAM/SSD) and with decent thermals
I’d love model suggestions (exact configuration if possible) and real-world feedback. Please include: • How it handled SolidWorks / ANSYS / Fusion 360 (assembly size, rendering, simulation) • Any thermal/throttling issues you experienced • Whether RAM/SSD are easy to upgrade • Battery life and build quality impressions • Anything to avoid (models or brands)
Open to gaming-laptop alternatives if they’re slim and quiet — I just don’t want a heavy “brick.” Thanks — I’ll read every reply and may follow up with more questions.
