How to get started with delivery jobs in Germany? Already have Anmeldung + student status

Discussion

Hi everyone,

I’m already living in Berlin, Germany with Anmeldung and I’m enrolled as a student. My class schedule is flexible, so I can manage shifts. I want to start doing delivery work (food or parcel) but I don’t really have any connections and don’t know the best entry points.

I’m mainly looking at Lieferando, Wolt, Flink, Uber Eats, Gorillas etc. (if they’re still hiring), and maybe courier/parcel routes with DHL or Deutsche Post.

I have a bike and can arrange an e-bike if needed.

Questions:

  • Which delivery companies are currently hiring riders/couriers and where is the demand highest? (Current State)
  • What’s the usual process to get accepted (documents, interviews, fleet requirements, etc.)?
  • For students, is there anything specific I should know about working hours, contracts, or taxes (Werkstudent, Minijob, etc.)?
  • Is it possible to join a third-party fleet partner if the main company isn’t hiring directly? How do people usually find those?
  • Any tips on getting started without knowing anyone in the industry?

Direct links or recent experiences would help a lot. Thanks!
