Silent hosts: what do you do?

I’ve seen a lot of au pairs say they apply to families or agencies and then hear nothing for days or weeks. Some feel awkward sending a follow-up. Others don’t want to look pushy. Some simply stop waiting and move on.

I wanted to ask people here:

• how long do you usually wait before following up • whether you send one reminder or none at all • how you keep track of the places you applied • if the silence affects your decision to continue with a family

A few au pairs told me they lose track of applications or doubt whether they should message again. I’ve been working on something small to help with this, but I want to understand your experiences first.
