Why am I like this?

This isn’t anything serious! I just reconnected with an old friend of mine, we have hooked up a couple times but he usually wants to make out before we actually get ‘down’ to it lol. I recently left an abusive relationship where the intimacy was close to none. I haven’t made out with anyone in so long I feel so nervous anytime the guy I’m seeing tries. He laughs it off and says “you’re so cute !” But I feel pathetic honestly. What should I do to overcome this? Every time I try to just go with it I end up feeling horrible, I feel like I’m a bad kisser? I have been told I’m great but this guy makes me so nervous 😅
