GGG I beg you reconsider the entire charges system

Discussion

For starters I'd like you to watch this short clip from ExileCon 2023: https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxh_Nj20dYDh13B4xFkeyifX6KXSK3yVnf?si=5xa6jKqmAvynZiii

I remember watching it at the time and I was thinking to myself "hell yeah they totally get it the combat is going to be amazing" and then I found out how Endurance/Power/Frenzy charges work in this game. If you look at this clip, the stuff we have in game is almost exactly 100% accurate representation of what GGG considered to be "Bad Design"(their words not mine). As per GGG statement, they don't want to force people into skills that do nothing for a bit just so we can have a burst of damage every now and then. Yet that's exactly how skills that use charges work.

Idk how others feel but I'm just kind of annoyed at the state of charges in PoE2. They are hard and annoying to generate especially on single target, many cool/interesting skills are either weak or non-functional without them and finally the passive tree has basically no support for charge generation. Gemling is the only class with passive charge generation, but even then it's terrible. You get one random charge every 8 seconds(soon to be every 5s in 0.4) which means that you get 1 charge that you want every 15s, on average. This will of course vary with RNG because you can't even choose which charges you receive.

Generating charges is often tied to getting kills, inflicting ailments or to put it simply, eating corpses. I don't know what the optimal solution would be, but personally I despise the entire charge system and if a skill requires charges to use then it's an automatic skip for me.

TLDR charges bad and they are exactly the opposite of what GGG said they would do before release

This post was sponsored by Spell Totem costing 3 fucking endurance charges to place and Wyvern eating corpses to generate power charges.
