Anyone else very public with their trauma?

Vent / Rant

I run a mental health/fitness/wellness page on instagram and am very open with my.past and present trauma.

I have always been like this and used to post on my Facebook making status updates about how my mental health is affecting me. Friends used to see the stuff I wrote there and would confront me in real life over what I said and I would openly speak about it more. Nowadays, I just post about my trauma and my story like I see a lot of people doing on social media, in an effort to try and break mental health stigma. I post info about cptsd and the symptoms I deal with as well as why I am going through this in the first place.

I get a lot of criticism for it especially from my friends in real life. They tell me I do it for attention..which is somewhat true because I want people to learn more about cptsd but I dont post for a certain veiw count number and I am not looking for sympathy yet I get accused of this and it hurts my feelings. If you feel sorry for me, fine, but to accuse of always talking about trauma in order to manipulate peoples sympathy is not true. I am not the type of person to tell a cashier or some stranger on the bus what I'm going through but if someone's asks about my trauma, I tell them about it even if they use it agaisnt me in the future negatively. I take the risk and dont care.

Someone on this subreddit told me that I should speak to a therapist about why I feel the need to be so open all the time so I guess I will do that once I get one.
