Tried KFC leg piece bucket for the first time… and I don’t get the hype

So I finally did it. After years of seeing ads, memes, and people treating KFC like the holy grail of fried chicken, I tried the leg piece bucket for the first time.

And honestly? Never again.

It wasn’t bad bad, but it was… forgettable. Oily, kinda bland, and nowhere near as crispy or flavorful as I expected. For the price and hype, I thought it would blow my mind. Instead, it just made me think, “That’s it?”

What makes it worse is that I’ve had way better fried chicken from random small kiosks and local joints. You know the kind, no branding, just a guy who clearly understands spice and crunch. Those places hit harder than this bucket ever did.

Maybe I caught them on a bad day. Maybe my expectations were too high. Or maybe nostalgia is doing a lot of heavy lifting for KFC.

Anyone else feel like KFC is overrated, or did I just choose the wrong item?
