Do You Have Nearby Neighbors You've Barely Seen/Know Anything About?

I don't live in a rural area. My neighborhood and street, houses are practically on top of each other.

I can tell you that at a normal pace, it takes me 6 minutes to walk my street end to end. My street has 42 home total. Around 20 of those homes are duplexes, the others single family. So all in all, there's quite a lot of people living on my street.

I know the names of probably eleven people total on my street, and three of them are children.

I could give a description of maybe a few more people, but have no idea their names.

I am not an unfriendly guy. And I go outside a lot. I take walks every day of the week unless it's severe weather. Even in the winter, if it's not snowy or icy I'm walking even in 10F weather.

I never see ANYBODY. Not even in the summer.

MAYBE I catch a glimpse of them during the summer, or them walking to their car, but it's only for a few seconds.

I can't even describe the people who live directly across the street from me. Or across the street and one home down. Or on the same side and three doors down.

I've lived in this house for a DECADE now, and these neighbors were here before me.

And what's crazy, is I live in the same neighborhood I always have. I bought a house like four blocks away from my childhood home. My parents knew EVERYONE back in the day. They could tell you the names and the life stories of everyone within like a two or three block radius.

Is this just normal these days?
