Popular take: Frontend and Product Design will merge into a single role

I have come across many UX Gurus talking about how frontend development and Designing will merge into one single role, and while applying, I already came across a few roles designated as ‘UI UX Developer’. Figma will become less central and no more of that Dev handoffs.

Now if that is the case, as a person who is relatively new in the field and has basic CSS HTML knowledge, how shall I shape my further learning? Which tools to master, and exactly how to up-skill to keep myself relatively secure?
