Booked a flight, ended up watching Shark Tank: Airplane Edition
I was flying yesterday, minding my own business, when I realized I wasn’t on a regular flight anymore. Nope, I had accidentally boarded Shark Tank: Airplane Edition. Forget the in flight entertainment system, the real show was happening two seats away.
Out of nowhere, the airhostess escorts a girl into business class. She sits down, opens her laptop, and before I can even adjust my seatbelt, she’s pitching her entire story like it’s demo day. Projects, internships, ambitions , the whole thing delivered mid‑air, as if the cabin had turned into a boardroom.
And then, in true Shark Tank fashion, the guy next to her nods, asks a couple of questions, and casually says, “I’ll give you an internship.” No dramatic theme music, no panel of judges, just one man handing out offers like they were packets of peanuts.
Now, my personal opinion on the “project” she was pitching? Honestly, it sounded like every other college hustle , a mix of enthusiasm, buzzwords, and the kind of slides you’d expect at a hackathon. Nothing groundbreaking, but definitely delivered with confidence. And apparently, confidence at 30,000 feet is enough to secure an offer.
As for me, I didn’t sign up for this. I wanted a quiet flight, maybe some chips, maybe a nap. Instead, I got LinkedIn Live with bonus theatrics. Next time, airlines should just announce it properly: “Welcome aboard, today’s in‑flight entertainment is career networking. Please fasten your seatbelts and polish your elevator pitch.”
