Fuel stabilizer for 2017 x3

I live in a very cold climate and we will be out of town for the entire month of January. We return for 2 weeks and then are gone again for the last 2 weeks of February. I got a battery charger to leave the battery plugged in while we’re gone from the dealership but they also suggested I use a fuel stabilizer but weren’t very specific on what type or how to do it. I’ve never used one before. Is it necessary? The car will be in our garage while we’re gone. How do I use it (looking for specifics, do I have a full or half tank of gas, is it ok to drive for the two weeks we’re back, etc). I’m (obviously) a car noob. Thank you!
