Any dual ticketed guys out there? What's your experience?
Been a Steamfitter/Pipefitter 15 years and I started right out of high school so I'm still pretty young (early 30s). I've been at the same company now for the last 8 years and cant see myself going anywhere given its steady work and I'm home every night. I have no interest getting off the tools anytime soon either. Maybe once I'm 40+ I'll reconsider.
I love my job and my coworkers but I'm at the point where nothing is challenging for me and the works become less exciting. Work has given me the opportunity to become Dual ticketed in the Millwright trade while paying me my redseal pipefitter rate and completely covering the costs of my schooling. Wondering if any of you all would jump all over this? I'm looking at it as more knowledge and a bit of a challenge to make work exciting again.
I know lots of pipefitter/welders and pipefitter/plumber/gasfitters but this would definitely be something new to me. Just wondering the experience of any of you dual ticketed people out there?
