Travel suggestion to north east road trip in december

I want to travel this month so badly. I have rode few months back hyd - maharastra - goa - gokarna - jog falls - hyd and oct Chikmagalur - kudremuk - Pushpagiri and hyd. It's always been south trip I want to try western part or eastern part. I want to visit raan of kuch and jaisalmer duns but I'm more of a mountain person so I'm more inclined to visit north east. Is it right time to visit north east in December month? If it's a four wheeler or public transport can some how manage but riding in cold temperatures might be a hassle. I have been to Kashmir in dec and sikkim in dec by public transport so I'm not a fan of snow or below 0 temperatures I'm sure I don't want to ride. What do you guys suggest? If it's pleasant in day time I fine exploring I'm more of trails and off road kind of person so roads doesn't matter just the places.
