[CA] Was terminated for misconduct. Will this affect my job search?

Resignation/Termination

So I was recently terminated for misconduct, I won't be too specific but will manage to disclose some details to avoid any vague or dodgy answers. I had spoken to a colleague who just also happened to be a good friend a question, which unfortunately was a lapse of judgment on my end, a question that would be considered inappropriate regarding to see something from her.

Upon asking, she immediately told me no and claimed that all was okay. It was the end of that but a few days ago, I was called by hr and told that I would be suspended for the nature of this comment. I told her it was an impulse question and nothing more was going to come out of it. They asked me prior to the end of the call if it was a sexual question but I stressed it was not. Eventually though, I got a call back and was told the question was deemed inappropriate and warranted termination.

Now I'm left without a job. 5 years of devotion, hard work, a model employee gone just because of one stupid mistake. As I'm here reflecting on the mistakes of my stupidity, I was curious if there is any issues that may arise should I try to apply for jobs.
