Matched with someone I had a crush on in high-school and think I might be messing up somehow

So I (28f) matched with someone I had a little crush on in high-school. Swiped on his profile FULLY thinking I wouldnt hear anything back but randomly got a message out of nowhere. I really would like to get to know him better but I feel like our conversation isnt going well (?) We arent really messaging that frequently and just recently I messaged him asking a question and he hasn't responded for quite sometime. I need some help to see if I can save this or if I should maybe give up and keep looking. I would post the screenshots of our conversation but ya never know who's on here and it would be werid if he somehow saw ^^; if anyone would like to see tho I don't mind sending in a dm to get some advice
