The Edit experience - Limelight Denver
Wanted to share my experience burning up The Edit credits and dining credits before the end of the year, in case anybody else also needed to use them before expiration. Booked 2 nights 12/1-3 at the Limelight Denver with a reservation at Tavernetta.
Hotel Benefits:
Room upgrade was not available even though I asked, but the hotel did seem near capacity due to some conferences being held at their ballrooms during our stay.
Limelight offered $60/day for the two of us for breakfast. Might have to add from your own pocket a little bit if you order a heavier entree and a drink, but for us it was enough.
We used their $100 property credit at Ajax, which was decent food if a little overpriced. Their resort fees also included a $10/night credit at Ajax, so we used all $120 in one dinner, and shelled out a bit extra out of pocket. The property credit could've also been used at their shop as well as for valet parking.
The hotel only offers valet parking at $64/day, which was in line with all the other hotels downtown but quite extravagant by my standards. I found parking a block away via Spothero, which cost about $55 total across 2.5 days but without in/out privileges.
At checkout, they did ask me to pay the resort fee that Chase allegedly covers. I expected this, and had already taken a screenshot of Chase Travel charging me the resort fee, so they removed it with no pushback.
Thoughts:
The hotel itself was quite nice in a convenient location, right next to Union Station. There's a free shuttle called FreeRide that Denver offers. It takes you all the way down 16th St, which passes hotspots like Larimer Square and 16th St Mall, and ends at the Civic Center Park and is easily walkable to the Denver Art Museum. Union Station is the main station of Denver's transit line, and has a direct line from the airport. You can easily get away with no car rental if you plan on staying near the city center, but we drove in from out of town.
Both the Edit and dining credits were applied about 72 hrs after the transactions posted.
Overall, I was quite satisfied with the value obtained on this trip. As someone who doesn't really do domestic city trips at all, the CSR offers weekend city breaks at great value, and I'll prob continue doing them biannually even if my city doesn't have any edit/dining offers.
