Did something happen on Dec. 3rd?

Browsing through this sub, I noticed that like 99% of shipments stopped cold on December 3rd. Mine too. Is Dec. 3rd just USPS's "Screw you, you'll get your package when we decide to deliver it" day or what? I understand its peak season or whatever but it's not like the holidays just randomly start
