Oil/natural gas advice
The current set up for our 1900sf house of 5 is an oil-fueled Emerald series boiler by Columbia (EM-110) from 2011. This heats our domestic water and baseboards. The heat is good, but the hot water performance is not during the colder months, and the fuel costs are extravagant. We did just get the rest of our aluminum windows replaced, which has definitely increased efficiency and should help out on that front though. Our street also had natural gas lines run and a line was run to our house. What advice would you guys have in terms of a go-forward setup? Our main complaints are hot water availability and fuel costs. A few guys I’ve had come in seem to just want to list my options, but it gets all convoluted and I really just want to know what makes the most sense/is the smartest setup.
