CFP Curriculum – Danko vs Dalton? Need Advice Before Starting in 2026

Hi

I’m planning to start the CFP curriculum in 2026 and hopefully sit for the exam in 2027, but I’m torn between Danko and Dalton Review for the coursework.

I’ve seen great reviews for both — people say Danko’s content and teaching style are top-notch, but Dalton also seems very respected and has that university affiliation (since you can take it through a partner school). My question is:

Does having the university name attached to your CFP coursework actually matter on a résumé, or is it more of a cosmetic thing?

How flexible are the timelines for each? From what I understand, Dalton lets you start anytime depending on the school and then schedule your exam within your chosen timeframe. Is Danko the same way, or are there fixed start dates?

I’m also trying to figure out cost vs value — it looks like Danko’s prep materials are more expensive, so I’m debating whether it’s better to just go all-in on Dalton (for both curriculum + review) or mix and match.

Any firsthand insight from those who’ve gone through either (or both) would be super helpful — especially around pacing, flexibility, and overall experience.

Thanks in advance!
