My ex strangled me a year ago; should I get back with him?

A year ago he strangled me, and nothing physical happened after that until June of this year, when he pushed me onto the bed and I hit my head against the wall (he said his intention wasn’t to push me into the wall or make me hit my head, but to push me onto something ‘soft’ like the bed). In both situations he showed remorse, and to this day he continues to say he’s sorry.

I ended things with him in September and kept very little contact with him until about two weeks ago. He wants to get back together and says he’s deeply sorry and that he would never do something like that again. Should I go back? It was a 10-year relationship and I still love him. Those were the only two physical incidents.
