ProArt P16 (2024) vs Zephyrus G16 (2024) vs Legion 7 (2025)
Hello, everyone. Currently I need to make a choice between those 3 laptops. The specs are listed below + reasons why am I hesitant about each model. (Prices are local, I converted them into USD)
I need something capable to work with 3d modeling (Revit, Blender), CAD (AutoCAD), video/photo editing (Resolve, Photoshop/Lightroom), some coding on the side too. I like the simpler-looking machines, something portable and that has decent battery life (I am aware that that is rare for gamer laptops but still)
Asus ProArt P16 (2024) (new):
- AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (12 cores)
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
- 32 GB RAM - DDR5,
- SSD 1 TB,
- 16" OLED, 4k, 60 Hz screen,
- $2300
I've read that there are issues with screen switching off, or laptop not turning on and driver update or windows reinstall does not resolve those problems. I like the form factor, simple design and portability of the laptop. And don't mind 60Hz screen too.
Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 (refurbished by Asus):
- Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (12 cores)
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
- 32 GB RAM - DDR5,
- SSD 1 TB
- 16" OLED, 2560х1600, 240 Hz
- $2100
Strong laptop, same chassis as proart, better GPU, screen is less reflective compared to proart's. Way less complaints from buyers. The issue is that it's refurbished machine, I've read that Asus tech support is quite bad, so I don't really know if it's worth the risk
Lenovo Legion 7 (new):
- I7 255HX (20 cores)
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060
- 32 GB RAM - DDR5
- SSD 1 TB
- 16" OLED, 2560x1600, 240Hz
- $2200
Also strong laptop, bulkier build, weights more, more game oriented, CPU is more power demanding compared to other options, thus the battery life will be shorter than in others.
If anyone had an experience with those laptops, would be happy to receive some info on how the machines are holding on. Also I will appreciate if you could give me some advice on what would be a better choice.
I am leaning more towards the Legion since it seems to be more stable, but I really like the Asuses' form factor. Since Proart is not that reliable, I am still looking at Zephyrus, but don't know if it worth the risk to buy refurbished version.
Thanks in advance)
