Inquirer question on stewardship

I've been attending the Divine Liturgy for a little over a month at a GOARCH parish, overall really been enjoying it a lot. I've had a couple of res flags not getting into all of it but half the sermons have been about money and how to be a good steward etc. I've had no problem with this since I know Orthodoxy in America is small they need funds. This completely changed once I started looking into who is really running GOARCH and the recent controversies in NY, my question is am I truly expected to give money knowing full well where it is ending up? Will I be looked down upon or rejected catechesis if I stand my ground on not funding the Archdiocese? Of course I will find other ways to help the parish than directly funding
