Recently diagnosed ocular

Somehow everything the Dr said is forgotten and I'm left with a pile of paperwork. He said something about 2-3 years of having ocular could turn general? Did I hear that right? Help I was given a prescription for mestinon. Does taking the meds help stop it's progression to generalized or does it just stop the aggravating symptoms and the diseases goes how it goes. Does diet or specific vitamins help, exercise? I already eat clean and am active so I not sure what else I could do. I was diagnosed during pregnancy which made everything that much harder but I can't imagine not being able to care for my infants if it turns to generalized...
