How important is internship experience for drug design Msc in Germany

Hi! I’m currently in my 7th semester of B.Tech (Bioinformatics) and planning to apply for Winter 2026 intake in Germany for MSc programs related to Drug Design / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Molecular Medicine.

my_qualifications:

CGPA: 8.4

Internships: None so far

Projects: Mini project wasn’t very strong; major project next semester (expected to give some research exposure)

Tests/Requirements: Will be applying for APS and taking GRE, German B2, and IELTS

I’ve seen that some Pharma/Drug Design programs in Germany prefer applicants with research or lab experience, so I’m concerned about having 0 internships.

I want to understand from people who have applied to bioscience programs in Germany:

How crucial is internship or lab experience for these courses?

Are there universities/programs (Uni vs FH) that focus more on academics/CGPA than experience?

Any tips on strengthening my application over the next year?
