Am I 35M delusional or does my 32F coworker like me? Both Single.

TLDR*at the bottom.

My coworker (F32) has been working here for about 1.5 years now. For the first year we barely spoke to each other except in passing or work related questions even though we are in a tight office.

I (M35) thought she was just shy or reserved. She eats alone and doesn't really talk much unless in meetings or a few quick friendly chats once in a while.

For the 1st year, thought nothing of it. Just a girl trying to work and get paid.

Customarily, I get a a small gift for everyone's birthday. Months go by and her birthday nears. A group of us attend a conference in Germany for a few days and I might have been the only 1 or 2 people who got her a gift. She thanked me and then went about life. Not much change so far, still light chats, etc.

Weeks later she starts to noticeably talk more with me about work, weekend plans, etc.

I initiate mostly, but she has started too which is a lot more compared to before. She starts smiling more at me, greetings have become more cheerful and some lingering eye contact as well.

There was one instance where she initiated a work conversation but the eye contact was longgg and intense and she was leaning forward so much I thought she was about to fall. That's when I thought maybe...? I didn't dare hope. At this point I still didn't have a crush on her, but my curiosity shot threw the roof.

More time goes by and there has been a steady flow of conversations and some banter but still nothing flirty or physical touch.

1.5 weeks ago we are at conference in the US and just killing time she sort of slid into the conversation that she was single and going on dates here and there but nothing stuck. She asked if I was seeing anyone and I said no. We briefly chatted about dating woes and usual topics and then flew back to the office 2 days later.

At this point it's been mental not knowing her stance, I feel like we both have feelings for each other but both of us are scared to make a big hint or to pursue something more at this junction.

We haven't exchanged numbers and don't really talk or hang out outside of work. Am I delusional in thinking there is something? I think I'm falling for her, but at this point she might just want to be friends or not want to pursue because we work together? Maybe she is content at leaving this as a work crush?

I understand the phrase not to poo where you eat. But it's so hard to meet people who want something real and lasting in this day and age. I won't try anything unless I get more clear hints.

TLDR* Crushing on coworker, am I reading things wrong or she's just being friendly?
