Sacrilegious question: is there any way to stain bark black on live edge slab

I have a live edge slab with bark (I believe it's oak, but I didn't buy it and am bad at identifying) that I am considering making into a small table for a record player. Asthetically, pure black makes the most sense in the room. Though, this really does pain me as I always profess letting the grain shine.

Still, I would like to do due diligence on the idea and would appreciate if anyone knows how to achieve this.
