Doesn’t anyone else feel like Chelsea’s scenes became more and more performative?

Chelsea

I’ve been watching TM2 on and off from the beginning this week on Pluto TV. I get the vibe that Chelsea’s scenes seem to be kind of performative since maybe season 2. I think season 1 was authentic. But after that it seems performative. And it got more and more that way after Cole entered the picture. Like how early seasons Kail was struggling to pay for school, she was working, worrying about where she’ll live. Leah was worried about similar things and Ali’s heath. Jenelle was being Jenelle. Meanwhile, is at another concert. Then going to California for her birthday. Then another concert. A lot of her scenes in the early years felt like a Temu episode of My Super Sweet 16.

Then when Cole was in the picture, it got obviously performative. Like Chelsea suddenly being soooooo concerned that she had to watch the clip of Ryan driving high with Mackenzie from TMOG. Or how Chelsea and Cole suddenly decide to go to pride for the first time ever. And it happens to be not long after David gets kicked off the show. Hmmmmm interesting timing.

I just feel like we got a less authentic view of Chelsea or her life on the show. As opposed to the other girls and their lives. Anyone else feel like this?
