Got a visit from a staff birb

Discussion

Sorry, it's a long post.

-Had a particularly challenging week (or 3) that prompted me to use my app in a way that was different than my usual way.

Decided to reflect on my current mood, clicked the "bad" icon, clicked on absolutely every single heading that had stressed me (it was most of them) and wrote a tome of every tiny and huge stress beginning with the phrase, "MY NAME can you:" It was quite long and consisted of line after line of finished questions followed by who or what asked it.

In the light of the next day, after a full night's sleep some of them were non issues, "let me rub my pointy, wet leaves all over you every time you have to pass -The fucking holly bush" and other things like my jeans asking if I could keep pulling them up all day and Publix asking not to get a rotisserie chicken for dinner.

It also covered things such as, "Fix Everything -Everyone", "Be Everything to Everyone -Everyone",

ending with, "Just Fade Away...Disappear -Me"

When I was done, I saved my entry and it felt very cathartic. I went to bed in hopes of turning everything around today and hoped to have a better outlook. I do, so far.

When I opened my app this morning, there was a pop-up saying (and I can't remember exactly how it was phrased) but it was someone from the finch team wanting to interact. It was a birb dressed like an artist and an adult-sized blue blob of some sort. Just checking in sort of thing.

I've been on this app for several months now and I had never seen anything like it nor had read anything like it in this Reddit group. It may or may not have been related to my very doomy post, but that was my assumption.

I had 2 simultaneous thoughts: "aww, how sweet is that? Someone listened and cares!" and, "are my deepest thoughts being read (AI, no doubt, cause who has time to read everything) and run through a computer searching for key words?"

I felt both secure and insecure, lol.

I clicked it off (or so I thought) and lo and behold, that other birb is standing next to me with their pet. "I guess this is happening", I thought. So, I began my adventure in London and looks like that birb is going to tag along.

It felt odd having a concerned stranger insert themselves into my London visit but it was also sweet to know that someone (computer program) is looking out for you (or AT you depending on my waffling thoughts on the matter?).

Here is the funnier part of this story. I clicked back in about an hour after I began my journey and that other birb has completely disappeared, LOL.

Again, multiple thoughts entered my head as soon as I saw that:

" Whelp, see ya! There's other people that need help."

"This was all a figment of your imagination"
