Searching

I haven’t been honest about how I’ve been spending my time lately. I used to fill my weekends with excursions and adventures, always chasing the next dopamine hit. Lately, I spend them in solitude, just searching. Searching for a hint in a song, a line in a letter, a glint in someone’s eyes. Searching for you in all the small corners of the world.

As all-consuming as this search has been, it has given me an unexpected sense of peace. Sitting still, listening, noticing the world around me, everything feels different now. Since you, music feels more melodic and resonant. Words flow from pen to page with an ease I thought I’d lost. And soaking in nature has become a source of quiet healing.

I’ve started taking pleasure in things I once considered mundane. It’s not that I’ve changed rather I’ve simply begun to let life touch me again.

Of course when you ask what I’ve been up to, I won’t admit that I’ve been searching and discovering. I’ll just say that I’ve been taking life in, and somehow it’s become my greatest adventure yet.
