Bad at navigating team settings

In team settings where we all share a common goal, I find it that I naturally end up at the bottom of the social hierarchy where I'm automatically following the orders of more dominant personalities. It doesn't matter if it's at work, a sport, or in a competitive videogame. It doesn't even matter if I'm older or physically stronger or more capable than them, I just end up being passive and subservient and it feels like there's something broken in me where I can't connect with others properly. Anyone else experience this?
