Have a friend trying to sell his used SD to me for $300

Hey guys, as the title says, I have a friend wanting to sell me his SD standard for $300. It would include the dock and controller with the price and is still in good condition. I only have a shitty laptop currently and have to travel a lot for work, so I’m looking to upgrade to play games while at the hotel. My question is, should I pull the trigger on this or sell out for the OLED or gaming laptop? Any advice would be appreciated.
