Logan never seemed… authentic?

I haven’t seen AYITL so this is based only on the original run, but something was always off about the Logan character for me. I can’t quite put my finger on it. I enjoyed when he was around way more than Dean and Jess because it was the only relationship Rory was in where she seemed more mature. But the character himself always seemed like the actor was given the direction of, “Look charming and smooth at all times. Always be smirking. You’re hot! Remember you’re hot!” lol idk it was odd. And him l calling Rory “Ace” also always felt really forced to me like they wanted it to be this really clever, cute thing but it didn’t fit Rory or their relationship IMO. It seemed like he was constantly “on” and modeling and not a character I could really buy into and believe.

I think the concept of Logan had a lot more potential but it wasn’t really executed for whatever reason.
