Is the Pokémon Colosseum community one of the less toxic on Reddit?

Question

Hey everyone,

I've been thinking lately about how surprisingly positive and chill this subreddit feels compared to other online spaces. Maybe I'm wrong—I haven't spent a ton of time on Reddit overall—but in my experience, a lot of places (especially around current anime or gaming) can get pretty negative or argumentative. YouTube and Twitter often feel dominated by negative energy or drama, but here it feels different.

Here, it seems like people mostly share:

  • Team builds
  • Fun gameplay experiences
  • Memes or art
  • Genuine love for the game

It’s refreshing. Part of me wonders if it's because Colosseum fans tend to be a bit older—maybe millennials like me who grew up with the game? If so, maybe that plays a role in the maturity and lack of toxicity.

Also, the game itself doesn’t really invite a lot of internal conflict. You either like it or you don’t. The only "toxicity" I’ve noticed is the occasional post from someone who doesn’t like the game, but even then, it doesn’t usually spiral.

What do you all think? Do you find this community less toxic than others you’ve been in? Is it the age group, the game’s niche status, or just good moderation? Or am I missing something?
