Moved to California over a year ago, didn't register car here, can I just sell it?

If I made the dumb decision of not registering my vehicle when moving to California and becoming a resident, over a year ago.

Can I just sell the truck in California, having the title in hand? and should I get it smogged in the mean time? It would pass a smog check fine, and I wouldn't sell it without it being capable of doing so, or is it better I just bite the bullet and pay the extra fees then sell it? Thanks
