Any gay Persian here? Need some advice from a cultural perspective.

I’m currently in a situation with a Persian guy. Both of us are in our 30s. We’re both in the west, have known each other for a couple of years now.

I’m a bisexual. Not sure about him. He’s not dated anyone for the 6 years that I’ve known him. I’m a Muslim, and he doesn’t like religion (like majority of Iranians in the west, because of their govt).

I keep on wanting to confess to him that I like him like that, but also am scared that he might hate me, if I’m completely off base here. So, would like some cultural light-shedding here.

How’d you feel if someone approached you like that?
