AV Club?

Honest question. Would any of you possess or know how to properly use ANY of the hand held video technology in this show? Somewhere in my attic I have a small handheld video camera that I haven't touched in over 2 decades. After smart phones why would any normal person have cameras, tripods, lighting, power cords, patch cables, memory cards, etc. to use any of this obsolete tech? And Carol expects the hive to make a dozen copies and distribute them worldwide as physical media. And then the recipients have all the playback capability to see Carol's messages? In translation? Even though she peppers her recordings with tons of sarcastic slang and modern American idioms? The whole premise just seems extremely poorly thought out.
