Ryen on Final Fantasy VII…

As a guy that played a lot of FFVII in high school on PS1, it throws me for a massive loop anytime Ryen references FFVII (and FFX in the most recent ep).

I knew some jocks back then that tried to finish that behemoth in a weekend but they were few and far between. I am having a hard time imagining Ryen spending any serious amount of time playing through that incredible game.

Do many (any) of you know what he’s referencing when he mentions FFVII or am I one of the few here that can appreciate the grind to fight Emerald Weapon?
