Is it okay to wear giant ear defenders in public?

I have sensory issues and noises bother me so i have to either listen to music or use earplugs but earplugs arnt enough for me. I got some ear defenders but there for like construction workers or wtv but I cant afourd other ones, but there giant and I feel self conscious. Any suggestions
