Do Norfolk folk typically have a phenotype that aligns more with the Germanic (Anglo-Saxon) phenotype, or the Celtic phenotype? (Description on both phenotypes below).
I‘m only gonna talk about facial features/skin colour here and hair texture, not hair colour since brown hair is most common in Germanic populations as well, despite a higher frequency of lighter hair, same with blue eyes.
Facial Features
- Anglo-Saxons:
- Longer noses, narrower bridges.
- Higher foreheads.
- Less pronounced cheekbones and more visible jawlines.
- Celts:
- Rounder faces, prominent cheekbones.
- Shorter noses, sometimes slightly upturned.
- Jawlines often softer, though still well-defined.
Skin Tone
- Anglo-Saxons:
- Fair skin, but generally with less tendency toward freckling.
- Skin tone can be slightly warmer than in Celtic populations.
- Celts:
- Very fair skin, often prone to freckling.
- Lighter, almost porcelain tones more frequent, particularly among the Irish and Scottish.
Stature
- Historical data suggest:
- Anglo-Saxons: generally taller than Celtic populations.
- Celts: more compact and robust, adapted to rugged terrains.
Hair texture
Anglo-Saxons: more often straight
Celts: still often straight, but wavy hair is more common than in Anglo-Saxons.
Which phenotype are you closer to?
