I think the way artists choose to name their works is a surprisingly interesting topic that isn't discussed often. Names can be abstract or literal, obvious or meaningless etc, and often the way they're picked reveals a fair amount about how the artist conceptualizes their own work. I'd like to hear what this sub thinks about this. Some ones I wanted to point out
Babies (Are so Strange) - Kero Kero Bonito: This inspired me to make this post. I've been getting into KKB and seeing that title made me giggle like an idiot. I find it so silly yet to me it also kind of encapsulates the childlike whimsy that I find so endearing about this band.
Like Him - Tyler The Creator: I like this one because of the ambiguity (which 'like' and who is 'him') draws your attention, and it has a very emotionally satisfying resolution.
Mr Morale and the Big Steppers - Kendrick Lamar: I still don't know what to make of this title tbh, but just naming your mainstream rap album something this arcane is a pretty strong statement about what kind of an artist you are.
