Sim vs travel pass in Colombia

Hi all, looking for recs for what ppl have used in south America. I’ll be in Colombia for 3 weeks soon , and would like to use my iPhone 17 for mainly data, I don’t plan on calling much, and will use WiFi as much as possible. Travel pass is 12$/day (over $250) if I add it for all my days; or 100$ monthly plan for 20gb data. I’d like to be able o use my phone for data primarily (maps) and texting here and there with my wife who will be with, and friends/fam in the states.

In Europe I’ve always gotten a physical sim which worked great. Is this the move for Colombia? Will travel pass automatically start charging me 12$/day if I don’t disable it? Or is the 100$ package a good deal. Thanks for any help.
